The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another victory in its ongoing efforts to combat violent crimes, with the arrest of a notorious car snatching gang operating across multiple states in the South-West.
‎
‎In a statement made available to The Razornewsng.com, the Command disclosed that its Tactical Squads arrested four suspected armed robbers between October 15 and 17, 2025, following a coordinated operation based on credible intelligence.
‎
‎The suspects, Taiwo Alabi (42), Ogedengbe Lowis (46), Ighodalo Enato Francis (37), and Osaro Eghe Abiodun (34), were arrested in their hideout located in Igando, Lagos.
‎
‎Recovered exhibits include a semi-automatic pump-action rifle (breech no. 000565), a locally made Beretta pistol, 48 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 46 live cartridges, a cutlass, criminal charms, and four vehicles, namely a Toyota Sienna, two Lexus ES350s, and one Toyota Corolla.
‎
‎Investigations revealed that the suspects’ modus operandi involved posing as passengers before attacking their victims and fleeing with their cars.
‎
‎The Lagos Commissioner of Police lauded the operatives for their swift response and assured residents of continued efforts to ensure public safety.
‎
‎ “Our officers are working around the clock to apprehend other members of this notorious gang. We remain committed to maintaining the security of lives and property across the state,” he said.
‎
‎The police added that investigations are ongoing and promised to update the public as progress is made.
