He officially took over command on Friday, October 17, 2025, succeeding CP Ajao S. Adewale, who has been redeployed for another strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM.

A seasoned officer with over two decades of distinguished service, CP Miller brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to professionalism, innovation, and public safety. Born on October 15, 1971, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, he has risen through the ranks with a reputation for discipline, strategic thinking, and operational excellence.

His educational journey began at St. Williams Primary School, Ilorin, continuing through Federal Government College, Enugu, and culminating in a Master’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Ilorin. Since joining the Nigeria Police Force in May 2000 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, Miller has served in critical national security roles from Chief Security Officer at the Ministry of Petroleum to Commanding Officer, MOPOL 24, Presidential Villa, and most recently, Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command.

His broad leadership experience also spans positions such as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) in Yobe and Edo States, Assistant Commissioner (CID) in Oyo, and Area Commander in Adamawa State.

A strong advocate for community-based policing, CP Miller is known for his calm leadership style and belief that sustainable security can only be achieved through collaboration between law enforcement and the public. As he assumes office, he has pledged to build on existing frameworks, strengthen community-police partnerships, and ensure the safety of all residents in the FCT.

“We will continue to evolve strategies that promote peace, security, and confidence among residents. Policing must remain proactive, people-centered, and transparent,” CP Miller affirmed upon assuming office.

The FCT Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, ANIPR, called on residents to continue supporting the Police in their shared mission to safeguard lives and property.
