The Onishe Ezemu of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom and Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization to the Delta State Governor, Hon. Asika James Onwordi, has expressed profound gratitude to indigenes and friends of the ancient kingdom for their overwhelming support during the recently concluded Iwaji Onishe Ezemu and Ine Festival.
Speaking after the colorful celebration, Onwordi noted that the unity displayed by the people at home and in the diaspora was a testament to the strength and cultural pride of Ubulu-Uku.
“My submissive loyalty and gratitude go first to God Almighty, the maker of all kings and the perfect watchman of our great kingdom. I also deeply appreciate our traditional monarchs, chiefs, elders, and every son and daughter of Ubulu-Uku who stood together to make this year’s festival a success,” he stated.
He described the annual celebration as not just a cultural showcase but also a rallying point for peace, love, and hospitality.
“The peaceful atmosphere, colorful display, and high-spirited turnout of our people during the Iwaji and Ine Festival prove that when we come together, we can achieve greatness,” he said.
Onwordi particularly praised the resilience of Ubulu-Uku youths, women, and men who mobilized resources and sacrifices to ensure the festival’s success.
“Your dedication has watered and renewed my strength to keep developing our land. With your support, we shall continue to welcome investors to our peaceful kingdom of hospitality,” he affirmed.
The Onishe Ezemu also recognized the role of security agencies, NGOs, and community vigilantes in safeguarding peace and ensuring a hitch-free celebration.
“I salute the Nigerian Army, the Police Special Forces, the Ubulu-Uku Vigilante Group, and all organizations that stood selflessly to protect our land. May God, who has kept our kingdom for decades, continue to protect and bless you,” he prayed.
Hon. Onwordi concluded with a call for unity, progress, and sustained cultural preservation, describing Ubulu-Uku as “God’s own town.”
“Dalu unu shinne… God bless Aniocha South, God bless Delta State, God bless Ubulu-Uku.”
