The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has strongly condemned a shocking kidnapping incident that surfaced on social media, describing it as “heartless and barbaric.”
The disturbing video, which has been widely circulated online, shows the abduction of a young boy and his two sisters in Amansea community. The tragic footage revealed that the boy was gruesomely murdered by suspected kidnappers, while one of his sisters survived the ordeal.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Command said CP Orutugu has directed operatives of the State Intelligence Department to urgently identify and secure the survivor.

The Commissioner, who commiserated with the bereaved family and the people of Amansea, appealed for calm and cooperation from the public.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and to share any credible information that could assist the police in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to fighting violent crimes, CP Orutugu stressed that kidnapping and similar acts of criminality would not be tolerated in Anambra State.
“The Police will continue to prioritize the protection of every citizen in line with our constitutional responsibility of safeguarding lives and property,” he assured.
