The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), has emphasized that effective policing in Nigeria must be anchored not only on operational strength but also on informed policies and coherent communication.
Argungu stated this at the public presentation of a new book titled “Articles on Policy Dissemination: Navigating the Management Decision on Issues” authored by Bolaji Kazeem, Deputy Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Police Affairs.
Represented by the PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC Chairman commended the author for what he described as a timely and valuable contribution to strengthening institutional effectiveness.
According to him, the book underlines the critical role of clarity in policy communication and disciplined decision-making, especially at a time when Nigeria’s security institutions are undergoing reforms.
“Effective policing is built not only on operational capacity but also on informed policies, coherent communication, and disciplined management decisions,” Argungu noted.
He added that the publication offers insights that will enrich practitioners, support managers navigating complex organizational challenges, and advance policy literacy across the public sector.
Argungu further stated that works of this nature help reinforce the foundations of a responsive, transparent, and citizen-focused policing system. He congratulated the author and organisers of the event and praised the Ministry of Police Affairs for sustaining platforms that promote intellectual development and institutional strengthening.
