The outgoing President of the Ministry of Defence Staff Agricultural Cooperative Society (MODACS), Dr. Edache Okoh Adigwu, has outlined six years of transformative achievements as he delivered his valedictory address at the Cooperative’s 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja.

The AGM, held at the Dr. Ezekiel Oyemomi Auditorium, Ministry of Defence Headquarters, marked a significant moment for members as it featured both the annual review and the long-anticipated election of new executive officers.

Dr. Adigwu, who assumed office in March 2019 and secured a second term in 2022, expressed deep gratitude to God and described the gathering as historic for the Cooperative’s future direction. He led members in a minute of silence in honour of the late General Secretary, Mr. Umoren Ekpeno, acknowledging his invaluable contributions.

Highlighting his administration’s accomplishments, Dr. Adigwu presented a detailed scorecard capturing six years of steady growth despite various challenges. He noted that MODACS recorded remarkable gains in innovation, investments, management efficiency, and member welfare during his tenure.

“In these six consecutive years, we were able to make tremendous achievements in innovations, investments, ingenuity, management, and benefits,” he said.

He further disclosed that the Cooperative experienced a significant rise in membership, attributing the growth to strengthened trust, improved service delivery, and strategic leadership.

As the Cooperative transitions to a new leadership structure, Dr. Adigwu urged members to rally behind the incoming executives, stressing that unity and continuity are crucial to sustaining the progress already made.

He expressed confidence that the next administration would build on the existing foundation and guide MODACS toward greater stability, inclusiveness, and development.

The event drew cooperative members, stakeholders, and invited guests who commended Dr. Adigwu for his dedication, transparency, and impactful stewardship over the past six years.
