The Nigeria Police Force has discredited a viral document circulating on social media, purportedly directing officers attached to VIPs to return to base immediately.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer, described the document, allegedly signed by CSP Suleiman Abdullahi of 50 PMF Squadron, as “fake and misleading.”
“There is no officer by the name CSP Suleiman Abdullahi in 50 PMF Squadron, and no CSP occupies the position of Admin Officer in any PMF squadron,” Hundeyin said.
He emphasized that the implementation of the Presidential directive on VIP withdrawal is ongoing, stressing that it is being carried out in a professional, phased manner. “Our focus is to maintain security and prevent any vacuum that criminals could exploit,” Hundeyin stated.
The public is urged to rely on official channels and avoid circulating unverified documents that could undermine confidence in the Force.
