Police arrests three suspected robbers in Anambra town

Detectives attached to Anambra Police Command have arrested three suspected armed robbers, recovering arms ammunition.

According to the command’s spokesman, Bala Elkana, on the July 18, 2020 around 12:30pm, following actionable intelligence, the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested Onyebuchi Osadebe, 28, Akwu ukwu in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State, Chibuike Ebere, 23, of Isiala Mbano LGA, Imo State and Umoke Kelechi, 22, of Ikwo LGA Ebonyi State.

  “The syndicate had on July 11,2020 arround 6:15am at Umuibu village, Akwu Ukwu allegedly robbed at gunpoint one Emmanuel Obi of his N700, 000. 00, Euro 8,000, $3,000 and some assorted phones.

  “Meanwhile, Exhibits recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest includes one pump action gun, one fabricated gun, four live cartridges, N610, 000.00 cash, 4,600 Euro cash, $600 dollars, one shuttle bus newly purchased with the victim’s money, two new tricycles and three assorted phones robbed from the victim.  “Suspects have confessed to the crime voluntarily and investigation is ongoing after which they would be charged to court.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, reassures Anambra that the Command under his watch would continue to make the state unbearable to the criminal elements until they repent or relocate from the state”.
