The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism campaign with precision airstrikes that dismantled multiple terror enclaves in Katsina State and halted a coordinated ISWAP/Boko Haram assault in Chibok, Borno State.
NAF operations in the North-West on 27 November 2025 delivered heavy blows to armed groups operating under OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) Sector 2. At about 6:30 a.m., air power struck the fortified hideout of a high-profile terrorist kingpin responsible for serial kidnappings and violent attacks across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi LGAs. Intelligence-driven bombing runs destroyed the camp and neutralised fleeing fighters through sustained surveillance and follow-on engagements.
A second strike later at 5:55 p.m. targeted another major terrorist base in Danfako, Faskari LGA, where logistics hubs, equipment and operational structures were demolished. Several insurgents were eliminated, further weakening their operational footprint in the region.
In the North-East, NAF aircraft supported ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade under OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK) to repel a multi-directional ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok. The Air Force carried out four precision strikes on regrouping terrorists along their escape routes, inflicting significant casualties. Additional engagements on fleeing fighters disrupted their withdrawal and prevented any attempt to reorganise.
Security sources described the combined air ground response as “decisive,” noting that the terrorists suffered substantial losses while the community was successfully defended from the offensive.
The NAF reiterated its commitment to sustained, intelligence-led operations to neutralise threats and restore peace across the country, pledging continued collaboration with ground forces and other security agencies.
Ehimen Ejodame, Air Commodore and Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, confirmed the operations in a statement issued on 30 November 2025.
