Warri south council to donate boat for ferrying students, pupils to Ode-Itsekiri

Warri South Local Government Council, has stepped – up work for the completion of a 100-person capacity boat to ferry students and pupils schooling at Ode-Itsekiri in Warri South Local Government Area, from their different riverine locations within that axis.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr. Michael Tidi, who made the disclosure Friday January 27 in a statement, explained that the boat which had been under construction, would be ready in less than two weeks.

He said that apart from the students and pupils schooling at Ode – Itsekiri, the boat would also accommodate teaching and non – teaching staff as well as corps members deployed to the schools in Ode – Itsekiri.

He emphasized that his administration had always prioritized the development of education as evident in the renovation of some dilapidated school buildings in Warri and strengthening of working relationship with the Warri South Chapter of Nigeria Union of Teachers,.

Tidi added that efforts were ongoing to accelerate the infrastructural development in public schools within the local government area.

He assured that the boat to be donated, would be maintained by the council in line with the sustainable development policy of his administration.
