Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (JTF OPEP) have recovered a rifle, ammunition, and mobile phones following an intelligence-driven operation at Manja, along the Mangu–Bokkos axis of Plateau State.
The operation, carried out on September 24, 2025, saw troops engage armed bandits who fled in disarray after facing superior firepower. Items abandoned by the fleeing criminals were secured by the troops and are now in custody for further action.
A statement by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of JTF OPEP, noted that efforts are ongoing to track and neutralise the fleeing bandits.
He added that the troops’ vigilance and combat readiness remain critical in ensuring the safety of communities within the Joint Operations Area.
