President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a testament to his visionary leadership and the confidence reposed in him by the people.
In a statement released on Sunday, President Tinubu said the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election, which saw Soludo win a second term in office, demonstrates the people’s acknowledgment of his administration’s development efforts and commitment to transparency and good governance.
“The overwhelming victory recorded in Saturday’s poll makes Professor Soludo only the third governor in Anambra’s political history to earn a second term,” the President noted.
Tinubu commended the people of Anambra, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring that the election was peaceful and credible.
He described Soludo’s leadership as one anchored on knowledge, accountability, and prudent resource management, noting that his performance has positioned Anambra as a model for effective governance.
“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has shown that knowledge and academic discipline can translate into impactful governance driven by accountability and transparency,” Tinubu stated.
The President recalled his visit to Anambra in May 2025, during which he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration. He said the projects reflected clear planning and a strong commitment to public service.
“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing brilliance, discipline, and innovation into governance. Under his leadership, Anambra continues to shine as the ‘Light of the Nation,’” he added.
Tinubu urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory and to unite all stakeholders in building a prosperous Anambra. He also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s readiness to collaborate with the state in advancing development.
“I assure Governor Soludo of my continued support and look forward to deeper cooperation between the Federal Government and Anambra State,” the President said.
Tinubu further applauded the performance of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (AGPA) in the poll, describing it as proof of the strength of Nigeria’s democracy, where capable leaders can win the people’s mandate beyond party lines.
He also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what he described as a credible election, urging them to sustain the momentum in future polls.
President Tinubu concluded by noting that Soludo’s re-election was not just a personal triumph but also a victory for visionary governance and the democratic spirit of the Anambra electorate.
