Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has gained international recognition after clinching three prestigious honours at the 2025 Global Power Forum, held alongside the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Governor Soludo received the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award, and a Special Certificate of Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, USA.
According to his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the South Carolina legislature commended Soludo’s distinguished career, citing his contributions as a professor of economics, economic adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
His reforms, the statement added, helped elevate Nigeria’s profile as a leading financial hub in Africa.
The high-profile award ceremony attracted global leaders including former Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, Prime Minister Philip Davis of The Bahamas, President Sylvanie Burton of Dominica, former Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and Prime Minister Dr. Judith Suminwa Tuluka of the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others.
Beyond the awards, Governor Soludo also delivered a keynote address on the theme “Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities- The Anambra State Example.”
He highlighted the transformative reforms underway in Anambra and positioned the state as a reference point for other regions in Africa and the Caribbean.
This global recognition, observers note, further underscores Anambra’s growing visibility on the world stage, with Soludo’s leadership putting the state on a path to international acclaim.
