The Anambra State Police Command has made significant breakthroughs in crime prevention and law enforcement during the past week, recording major arrests and recoveries across the state.

In a startling incident on Saturday, July 6, 2025, a 25-year-old male suspect, Samuel Eze, was arrested by a joint security team comprising officers from the Awada Police Division and local vigilante operatives. The arrest occurred at about 3:30 p.m. along Jude Onyekwere Street in Awada, Obosi. According to police sources, the suspect was found in possession of a woman’s breast, which was immediately recovered and deposited in a morgue for preservation. He is currently undergoing interrogation as investigations continue.

In another major operation, officers of the Rapid Response Squad, acting on credible intelligence, rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered a consignment of custard powder valued at N9.5 million. The operation took place on Thursday, July 4, 2025, at around 12:45 p.m. Three male suspects: Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47) were arrested. The suspects confessed to abducting the driver, tying him up in a bush, and diverting the goods meant for delivery to a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State, instead to Enugwu-Ukwu.

Additionally, on Friday, July 5, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., operatives from the Obosi Police Division recovered a suspected stolen and abandoned Toyota Sienna vehicle. The custom-coloured minivan, bearing registration number 736 JP and branded with the inscription “Forum of Accountants Delta State,” was found during a routine patrol along Okpuno-Umuota village road, Obosi.

The Anambra State Police Command urges members of the public searching for the recovered vehicle to present valid proof of ownership for verification and possible claim.

The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state. Joint patrols and surveillance operations involving the Police, Nigerian Army, Civil Defence Corps, Immigration Service, DSS, and Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) are ongoing.
