The Onishe Ezemu of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom and Traditional Prime Minister, Hon. High Chief Asika James Onwordi, has described the dedication of the Owa Kingdom Hall of Fame as a monumental step in preserving the legacies of great monarchs and personalities of Delta State.
Chief Onwordi, who joined the celebration of the Hall of Fame alongside the 66th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty Obi Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II, JP, OON, the Obi of Owa Kingdom, said the event rekindled the historic bond between Owa and Ubulu-Uku kingdoms.
According to him, his visit was more than ceremonial; it was a renewal of ties.
“During my visit to Owa, uniting once again with the Obi, His Royal Majesty Dr. E.O. Efeizomor II, a respected monarch in the history of the great Owa Kingdom, largely renewed the bond of strength and togetherness our neighbouring kingdoms have shared for decades,” he said.
Chief Onwordi explained that he was particularly impressed by the Owa Kingdom Hall of Fame, which he described as both traditional and modern in outlook.
“The Hall of Fame is more of a traditional-modern facilitated museum, where galleries of great monarchs, prominent personalities, and their artefacts are displayed all round. It is indeed a tourist centre in the making,” he observed.
Narrating his tour of the facility, the Onishe Ezemu revealed that the Obi personally walked him through the galleries, pointing out memories that spanned generations.
“His Royal Majesty showed me a picture of the late great HRM Obi Edwards Ofulue, which was taken of both of them 30 years ago. That moment alone reminded me of the enduring heritage our kingdoms share,” he recalled.
He further lauded the vision of the Owa monarch in expanding the Hall of Fame to accommodate a capacity of over 1,000 personalities for future generations.
“This calls for emulation. Obi Efeizomor has, through decades of stewardship, set leadership footprints that inspire progressive development. He is truly a father and a monarch worthy of honour,” he declared.
Chief Onwordi also extolled the grace of God in the life and reign of Obi Efeizomor, stressing that his good works and longevity on the throne could only be by divine providence.
“The Obi proved to me that my visit will always maintain the great bond and love Owa and Ubulu-Uku have shared over the decades. For his reigns and good works all these decades have shown the grace of God upon him. It can only be God, the maker of every king and kingdom,” he affirmed.
The Ubulu-Uku Traditional Prime Minister prayed for the continued protection and prosperity of the sons and daughters of both kingdoms, while also wishing long life to his own monarch.
“God continue to protect and enrich all sons and daughters of our great Kingdom, Ubulu-Uku. Long live His Royal Majesty Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom,” he concluded.
