The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against insurgency, neutralising more than 15 terrorists in a precision strike on their enclave in the Sambisa forest.
According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters NAF, the air interdiction was carried out on 3 September 2025 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).
The raid followed what the Air Force described as “credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance”, which revealed a newly identified terrorist base west of Zuwa, used as a staging ground for attacks around Bitta.
“The strikes proved devastating, neutralising over 15 terrorists and demolishing key structures critical to their operations,” Ejodame confirmed.
He added that the operation reflects the NAF’s “unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians while supporting ground troops in joint operations to dismantle terrorist networks.”
The spokesperson maintained that every successful strike “brings Nigeria one step closer to lasting peace.”
