The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has scored a major victory in the fight against insurgency, neutralising over 25 terrorists in a daring night operation across the Bula Yobe-Banki axis of Borno State on September 18, 2025.
The operation followed intelligence reports from ground troops, prompting the deployment of a force package that included Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and attack aircraft.
According to NAF, ISR assets tracked multiple terrorist movements north of Banki, relaying real-time updates to ground troops and base operations.
Strike aircraft then executed three precision bombing runs, targeting the insurgents’ movement routes and assembly points. The airstrikes wiped out the fighters, leaving ground forces free of further threats in the area.
Post-strike surveillance confirmed that troops maintained strong defensive positions, consolidating the operation’s success.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, hailed the operation as proof of the Air Force’s “decisive support to ground forces, resolve to deny terrorists freedom of action, and commitment to securing Nigeria’s North-East.”
This strike adds to recent gains in counter-terrorism, further shrinking insurgents’ safe havens in the region.
