The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has alerted Abuja residents to a crisis response simulation exercise scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
‎
‎The Command, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the exercise is being coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to test inter-agency preparedness and response to emergency situations in Nigeria.
‎
‎According to the statement, the exercise will involve a “heavy security presence in and around the venue” and “controlled traffic diversions,” but residents are advised not to panic as the activity is purely a drill.
‎
‎“The Command wishes to inform members of the public, particularly residents of Abuja, that a Crisis Response Simulation Exercise will take place on Thursday, 18th September, 2025, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja,” Adeh said.
‎
‎She stressed that there is no cause for alarm, noting: “Members of the public are therefore urged not to panic, as the activity is purely a drill and poses no cause for alarm.”
‎
‎The police further appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel and comply with traffic advisories that may be issued during the exercise.
‎
‎“The FCT Command enjoins residents to cooperate with security personnel on duty and to adhere to traffic advisories that may be issued in the course of the exercise. The Command appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all residents as we continue to work together in ensuring the safety and security of the Federal Capital Territory,” Adeh added.
