In a renewed and intensified effort to rid the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of criminal elements and sustain the relative peace being enjoyed by residents, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has ordered a massive crackdown on all criminal hideouts and black spots across the Territory.
The Commissioner gave the directive for all tactical and surveillance teams under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), as well as operatives of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), to join forces with the Department of Operations and all Divisional Police Formations for a sustained and coordinated operation.
The special operation, which kicks off in November 2025 and will run through January 2026, is designed to identify, dislodge, and apprehend criminal elements hibernating within the nooks and crannies of the FCT.
According to the CP, the operation will be conducted with intensity, precision, and consistency, ensuring continuous police presence and visibility across strategic areas.
“Our operatives have been directed to dominate identified black spots, criminal hideouts, and vulnerable communities. We are determined to ensure the safety and security of all residents at all times,” CP Dantawaye stated.
He warned all officers and men involved in the operation to take the assignment seriously and conduct themselves with utmost professionalism.
“No lapse, misconduct, or act of unprofessionalism will be tolerated under any guise. Officers must uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights,” the CP cautioned.
CP Dantawaye further appealed to residents of the FCT to cooperate fully with police personnel throughout the duration of the operation, noting that effective security can only be achieved through collective effort and community partnership.
He also advised the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement, activity, or unfamiliar face to the nearest police station.
