The Nigeria Police Force has added another 10,000 constables to its ranks as part of ongoing reforms to strengthen internal security and operational efficiency.
The recruits successfully completed intensive training at various Police Training Colleges and passed out on September 7, 2025, in simultaneous ceremonies nationwide.
In his address, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, charged the new officers to uphold the principles of honour, diligence, and patriotism in discharging their duties.
“Your training has prepared you not just to enforce the law but to serve with integrity. Carry with you the torch of professionalism wherever you go,” the IGP said.
He explained that the recruits were trained in modern policing strategies including intelligence gathering, human rights protection, and community engagement.
Egbetokun noted that the exercise was part of the Force’s broader strategic manpower development plan, which seeks to improve visibility policing, quick response, and crime prevention across the federation.
The Police Chief assured Nigerians that the Force remains committed to continuous training and welfare improvement to enhance professionalism and public confidence in law enforcement.
“Our vision is a reformed, responsive, and people-centred Police Force,” he concluded.
