Edo State’s first-ever flyover at Ramat Park has reached 60 percent completion, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development drive.

Governor Monday Okpebholo, who inspected the project over the weekend, expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and pledged to ensure its early completion.

Speaking at the construction site in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Governor Okpebholo said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to transparency and the effective use of public resources.

He noted that funds allocated to Edo by the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are being judiciously deployed to improve the lives of residents.

“This is the project we are doing with the money given to us by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and it shows the Renewed Hope Agenda is working. The money is working for Edo people, and we want the project completed in record time to show the difference between the PDP and the APC, which is a progressive party,” the governor stated.

The governor’s inspection tour, which started from Uteh Road through Palace Road and Upper Mission Extension, drew excitement from residents, traders, and commuters who cheered his convoy as he stopped intermittently to assess drainage and other technical aspects of the work.

Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Engr. Phoebe Bello-Williams, revealed that the contractor is ahead of schedule and may complete the project in 14 months instead of the initially stipulated 18 months. She disclosed that one abutment has been completed, beams have been launched on one side, and work on retaining walls and shoulders is progressing steadily.

“When completed, the Ramat Park Flyover will provide three lanes with access drains and improved road shoulders. Pavement work is expected to begin after the rainy season, and the project is already 60 percent done,” Bello-Williams said.

The Ramat Park Flyover, the first of its kind in Edo State, is projected to significantly ease traffic congestion, enhance mobility, and boost the infrastructure profile of Benin City and its environs.
