The Department of State Services (DSS) has refuted a circulating Facebook post claiming that it arrested Evangelist Ukpo Daniel over a video alleging that Fulani herdsmen attacked a crusade in Agboda Village, Nasarawa State.
‎
‎The Service made the denial in a statement issued in Abuja, by its Deputy Director on Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Favour Dozie,
‎
‎It described the post as “false, misleading and calculated to cast the Service in bad light and stir public tension.”
‎
‎“For the avoidance of doubt, Evangelist Ukpo Daniel was never invited nor arrested by the DSS,” the statement read.
‎
‎The DSS further disclosed that the evangelist’s wife, Elizabeth, who originated the post, later confirmed that she was with him at the Police Headquarters in Lafia.
‎
‎The Service warned that “such misrepresentations, capable of inflaming tension and disrupting ongoing operations, will be taken seriously.”
‎
‎It advised members of the public “to rely on verified information and official communication channels.”
