The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, has called on Nigerians to be more intentional about promoting a healthy environment through proper waste disposal.

Speaking during the association’s Monthly Aerobics Exercise and Walk for Health held in Abuja, Mrs. Musa emphasized that indiscriminate dumping of refuse along roads and open spaces poses grave health and environmental risks.

She urged participants and the general public to cultivate the habit of disposing waste in designated bins rather than littering the streets. According to her, a clean and healthy environment directly contributes to good health, while an atmosphere free of pollution enables people to breathe clean air and live better lives.

Mrs. Musa reaffirmed DEPOWA’s commitment to promoting not only physical fitness among its members but also environmental consciousness, stressing that the wellbeing of families and communities depends on both healthy living and a clean environment.
