Delta State Police in a sting operation led by the CP Olufemi Abaniwonda’s Special Assignment Team, have eliminated a kidnap gang of four, terrorizing Asaba, Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-Uku and Issele-Uku areas of the State on the 11th day of April, 2025.
In a press release by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, the same gang was responsible for the abduction of a medical doctor and his driver at Issele-Uku, including the kidnap and murder of Late Esther Ojoh and Godwin Anuka at Ibusa and Ogwashi-Uku recently.
The PPRO explained that the Special Assignment Team led by ASP Julius Robinson went into investigation, trailed and arrested one Abubakar Usman known as Shehu, who happened to be the gang leader, positing that he led the police team to their hideout where there were gun duel leading to fatal injuries on the suspects before they were confirmed dead at Ogwashi-
