Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has lauded the Namibian Command and Staff College for its role in advancing defence education and strengthening continental cooperation.
‎
‎Badaru, who was represented by the Director, Joint Service Department, Mrs. Bosede Olaniyi, stated this when he received a 26-member delegation from the Namibian Command and Staff College (Course 05/2025) led by Brigadier Benhard Erastus at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja.
‎
‎“Nigeria remains committed to sharing experiences, deepening understanding and building stronger partnerships with Namibia and other African nations in the pursuit of peace and stability,” the Minister said.
‎
‎He recalled Nigeria’s support for Africa’s liberation struggles and stressed that unity among African nations was crucial in resisting external forces seeking to divide the continent.
‎
‎In his remarks, Brigadier Erastus expressed gratitude to Nigeria for the warm reception and said the study visit was informed by Nigeria’s regional leadership and contributions to defence and security studies.
‎
‎The delegation later received a presentation on the Ministry of Defence architecture by the Joint Service Department, followed by an interactive session. The visit ended with the presentation of a plaque of honour to the Ministry by Brigadier Erastus.
