COVID-19: Osanebi visits prisoners, distributes food items

Worried about the welfare of inmates of the various correctional centers in Delta State, occasioned by the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, member representing Ndokwa East State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comr otunba Osanebi Ossai Friday today visited the centers and distributed beverages, food items and other provisions to the inmates.


Reassuring the inmates of a better life after the current and global challenge, Osanebi told the inmates to always remain hopeful and put up a positive mindset, noting that challenges are but for a moment.

He said that the visitation amongst other things was to share the love of Christ with them and to also remind them that the society still believe in them, hoping that they will come out strong and better citizens.

He also told them to continue to maintain the coronavirus control protocols as have been declared by the state government.

“the coronavirus is real. We must consciously remain hopeful and maintain the preventive measures as we have been all directed to, by the government. Avoid crowded places, wash or sanitize your hands always maintain physical distance and always wear your face masks” he added.

The delegation from the Friday Osanebi foundation, led by its secretary, Agbanashi Obinne was first received at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional centre and later at the Kwale center. The group distributed beverages, loaves of bread, to all the inmates, toiletries and other sanitation materials.

The prisoners and welfare officers and commanders in the various centers expressed joy, commending the former Deputy Speaker for his benevolence and love, praying God to continue to strengthen him.
