Troops of the Nigerian Army under 2 Division have rescued two kidnapped victims during an operation around Babasango Forest in Kwara State.
‎
‎The General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Major General C.R. Nnebeife, who led the troops, also visited the scene of a recent bandit attack at Olegbede village, near Idofin Ayekale in Omu-Aran Local Government Area, where three people were killed.
‎
‎During a visit to the traditional ruler, Oba Pius Oluwole Oni Dofin, Major General Nnebeife expressed condolences and assured that operations will continue until the entire area is cleared of bandits.
‎
‎Oba Pius attributed the insecurity in his community to the closeness of Babasango Forest, which he described as a known hideout for criminals.
