Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, the Joint Task Force in the North-East, have rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers during coordinated operations in Borno State.
The Media Information Officer of OPHK, Sani Uba, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, noting that the operations were carried out on November 9, 2025, as part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.
According to the statement, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, under Sector 2, engaged Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters at Dutse Kura, after discovering that the terrorists were abducting civilians and hijacking vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.
Uba said the troops pursued the fleeing insurgents towards Mangari, overpowered them, and rescued the victims, who included men, women, and children.
He added that 11 makeshift camps were destroyed during the operation. Items recovered included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines loaded with 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two tricycles.
In a separate operation, troops at Mangada arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers conveying fuel, tyres, and medical supplies to terrorist hideouts.
“Recovered items include two pickup vans, a tricycle loaded with 1,000 litres of petrol, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, medical consumables and foodstuffs,” the statement added.
Uba said the operations were conducted successfully with no casualties recorded among the troops.
“The Military High Command commends the gallantry and professionalism of the troops and urges them to sustain the momentum,” he said.
