Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Colonel Appolonia Anele, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, stressing that the operations reflect the Army’s resolve to deny terrorists and bandits freedom of action nationwide.
According to the statement, troops of 192 Battalion (Main) in Gwoza, Borno State, on 2 September 2025, received the surrender of an adult female family member of ISWAP/JAS terrorists. Preliminary investigation revealed she came from Chikide Village with a token sum of ₦4,500 before being handed over to 26 Task Force Brigade Military Intelligence for profiling.
In Zamfara State, troops of 1 Brigade at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Danmarke acted swiftly on intelligence after terrorists rustled livestock at Kyairu Village. The prompt response forced the criminals to abandon the stolen animals, which were later recovered and returned to local authorities.
Similarly, in Kebbi State, troops of 1 Battalion (Rear) in Augie, in collaboration with a Joint team, pursued armed terrorists who attacked Gulma Village in Argungu LGA. The operation led to the recovery of 30 cattle, which were handed over to traditional leaders for onward return to their owners.
In Sokoto State, clearance operations were conducted in Sauna/Goboro Forest, Tangaza LGA, following intelligence of terrorist movement with rustled livestock. The criminals fled after contact with troops, leaving behind 68 cattle, which were secured and handed over to community leaders for safe custody.
Troops of Sector 6 Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) also intervened in Plateau State after reports of farm destruction. In Jos South LGA, 21 cattle were found grazing unattended, while in Riyom LGA, 39 cattle were discovered grazing unsupervised on farmlands. All the livestock were secured for further action.
