The Anglican faithful in Onicha-Ugbo gathered in a vibrant display of devotion to mark Palm Sunday with a special procession and prayer session led by the Vicar in charge of the parish, Venerable Anwasia Samson.

As part of the Christian calendar commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the procession saw parishioners march through parts of the community with palm fronds in hand offering prayers for the nation and their land.

During the service, Venerable Samson led fervent prayers for peace and security in Onicha-Ugbo and the nation at large.

He invoked divine protection, casting away the spirits of kidnapping, bloodshed, and all forms of evil that threaten the wellbeing of the people.

“We pray that the peace of God reigns in our land. There shall be no kidnapping and blood shed, he declared

The Palm Sunday celebration is part of the Holy Week observances that culminate in Easter Sunday, a significant event in the Christian faith celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
