GenZ Fever is my space to tell the real story of our generation, the wins, the chaos, the vibes. From hustle culture to soft life, from slang to struggles, this column brings you into our world, no cap.

Delulu is the New Solulu

The playful, unshaken confidence behind our “delulu” mindset and how it actually fuels dreams.

Let’s be honest, if you scroll through TikTok or Twitter/X today, you’ll definitely bump into someone saying “Stay delulu, it’s the solulu.” At first, it sounds like Gen Z’s usual unserious banter, right? But scratch beneath the memes and you’ll see something deeper, this “delulu” mindset is actually our survival tool.

What does “delulu” really mean?

“Delulu” is short for delusional but Gen Z flipped it into something positive. It’s about holding onto big, almost unrealistic dreams with unshaken confidence, even when reality looks like a flop. It’s believing you’ll get that scholarship, that viral video, that billionaire investor, even when the odds are stacked.

Some might call it denial.
We call it manifestation with vibes.

Why Gen Z embraces “delulu”

We grew up in chaos, pandemic lockdowns, economic meltdowns, unstable governments, student debts, and a planet literally heating up. If reality feels bleak, why wouldn’t we create our own?

Instead of drowning in the hard truths, we tell ourselves What if it works out? That’s the delulu energy. It gives us the audacity to apply for jobs we’re under-qualified for, to pitch ideas without connections, to create businesses from our bedrooms.

Because here’s the plot twist, sometimes being a little delulu is the only way to move forward.

When delulu becomes solulu

History has receipts.
Every great innovator sounded delusional at first from tech founders in garages to artists chasing impossible visions. Gen Z simply branded it cooler.

For us, delulu is not about ignoring reality. It’s about refusing to let reality cage our possibilities. It’s about speaking it, believing it, and sometimes faking the confidence until it clicks.

And when it finally works out, people call it “vision.”

Stay delulu because sometimes, believing the impossible is the only way to make it possible.

At the end of the day, Gen Z isn’t just vibes, we’re the fever, the future, and the fire. Stay bold, stay unfiltered, stay unapologetically Gen Z.
