Acting IGP seeks police trust fund intervention for improved workforce

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali has told to the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto that the high command was ernestly looking forward to a swift all the interventions to boost policing duties across the country.
  He added that the police management desires interventions in the area of improved logistics, enhanced welfare for police personnel, in terms of rehabilitation of police buildings and critical training of all police personnel in order to meet up with emerging security challenges.
He also stressed the need for the rehabilitation of dilapidated police barracks as well as building new befitting accommodation for personnel across the nation.
  Baba made the request during the visit of the administrative management team of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) to his office in Abuja on Tuesday.
Baba however, lauded the composition of members of NPTF’s board.
“The Chairman as well as other members of the Board are persons of integrity; tested and trusted”, he said.
  The leader of the delegation and Executive Secretary of the Trust Fund, Aliyu Sokoto assured the IGP and members of the police management team of the Trust Fund’s readiness to work with the NPF for the common good of the Nation.
  He said that:  “the Fund is ready to build a well-equipped and well-motivated Nigeria Police Force that would be prompt and responsive to security challenges in line with global standards and best practices.”
