Lagos RRS officers help pregnant woman in labour to hospital

Officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos on Friday morning helped a pregnant woman in labour to a hospital in Obalende.
According to a Twitter thread by the squad on Saturday, a man was accosted looking distressed in Ikoyi.

The man told the officers that his wife was in labour but he could not get her to the hospital.
“He got into our vehicle and was rushed down to his home,” the tweet read.

“Both man and wife were immediately taken to the hospital in Obalende. The officers went back to the couple’s residence an hour ago and found both mother and child doing well. It’s a girl.

About 3:00 a.m on Friday our officers in Ikoyi came across a man in distress. We accosted him and he told us his wife was in labour at home but he had no means of getting her to the hospital. He got into our vehicle and was rushed down to his home.

Both man and wife were immediately taken to the hospital in Obalende. The officers went back to the couples residence an hour ago and found both mother and child is doing well. It’s a girl.

Lagos State is currently under lockdown following the 14-day extension by President Muhammadu Buhari to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
