The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has congratulated the Nigerian State and its citizens on the occasion of the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
In a statement signed by the Convener, Chief Jacob Edi (Kakaki Bassange), the group described the anniversary as “an opportunity to reflect on our collective journey of nationhood,” stressing that Nigeria’s unity had been tested but remained unbroken.
“Over the last six and a half decades, our unity and resolve to remain as one indivisible nation have been tested repeatedly. We remain solid and unwavered. Our resilience, patience, and shared hope in the destiny of Nigeria have sustained us,” the statement read.
The group paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, past leaders, and citizens whose sacrifices, it said, remain the cornerstone of national survival.
NNMG further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as “courage and vision” in handling national challenges.
“His boldness in tackling difficult national issues is a testament to statesmanship and a clear expression of his faith in the future of our dear country,” the group noted.
As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, NNMG urged citizens to renew faith in the Nigerian project, remain united, and work collectively to achieve the dreams of the founding fathers.
