The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao Adewale, has read the riot act to his commanders, warning against extortion and misconduct as the nation heads into the ember months and political season.
At a strategic meeting on September 25, 2025, Adewale highlighted the arrest of 523 suspects, recovery of 13 stolen vehicles, six rifles, and the rescue of three kidnap victims as key operational wins in recent weeks.
He commended units like the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and Scorpion Squad for their proactive actions, especially in foiling kidnappings in Gwagwalada and Karu.
But he warned officers to remain professional: “I will not tolerate unauthorized roadblocks or extortion during enforcement of any kind. Misconduct will not be excused.”
The CP stressed the importance of intelligence-led policing and deeper community engagement with groups such as CAN and Miyetti Allah.
“Residents must trust us. Credible information from the people is key to our success,” he added, listing emergency hotlines for the public.
