In a continued effort to enhance public safety and security in Awka, the Anambra State Police Command has sustained its raid operations, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of a locally made revolver pistol and suspected hard drugs.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of April 29, 2025, was conducted by officers from B Division following credible intelligence. The raid targeted an uncompleted building located at Iyiagu Estate, Awka, believed to be a hideout for criminal activity.
Three male suspects Paulinus Nkuda, Nwankwo Emmanuel, and Nwadede Godspower were apprehended during the raid. Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered firearm is allegedly owned by a known arms dealer identified as “Chukwuebuka,” also known by the alias “Nwa Onitsha,” who remains at large.
The case and suspects have been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping and Rapid Response Unit for further investigation. A manhunt has been intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
“This operation underscores the Command’s unwavering commitment to rooting out crime and safeguarding lives and property in the state capital,” said SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command.
He further assured residents that the Police would continue to dismantle criminal hideouts and maintain a proactive presence across the state.
