Troops of Operation FOREST SANITY today conducted fighting patrol to clear bandits camp at Dutse Uku forest in Lanke and Danmarke villages both in Gummi Local Government Area, Zamfara State, killing eight bandits.

According to Defence Media Operations spokesman, Maj General Musa Danmadami, “While on the fighting patrol troops came in contact and engaged terrorists in a fire fight and neutralized eight bandits while others scampered for safety with gun shoot wound. Troops exploited the general area after the fire fight and rescued 4 kidnapped victims, recovered six AK 47 rifles, 40 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, six AK 47 magazines and 32 motorcycles among others items.

“The military high command commends troops of Operation FOREST SANITY and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities.”
