The Nigerian Navy has honoured the family of Leading Regulator Suleiman MK, who lost his life during Operation WHIRL STROKE in Niger State on August 13, 2023.
This initiative underscores the Navy’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.
A statement from Aliu Adams, Director of Information at Navy Headquarters in Abuja, emphasized the bravery and dedication of military personnel, highlighting their crucial role in national security. “Their bravery and dedication in the face of battle are the bedrock upon which national security is built,” Adams stated.
Leading Regulator Suleiman MK’s sacrifice is a poignant example of the profound impact such losses have on the Navy and the Armed Forces.
To honour his memory and support his family, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, has taken significant steps to ensure the welfare of naval personnel.
In alignment with his vision of maintaining a highly motivated and professional naval force, Vice Admiral Ogalla presented a two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow to Suleiman’s widow, who also serves as a Leading Seaman, at Navy Estate Karshi in Abuja.
This gesture not only provides immediate relief to the family but also symbolizes the Navy’s dedication to the well-being of its members.
Rear Admiral Mohammed Yakubu Dahiru, Director of Veteran Affairs, represented the Chief of the Naval Staff at the ceremony.
He reiterated the Navy’s commitment to sustaining such initiatives, ensuring that no one is left behind.
This act of kindness and support reflects the Navy’s recognition of the ultimate sacrifices made by its personnel and its ongoing commitment to their families’ welfare.
