IGP, Arase pay tribute to Late Commissioner of Police, Odita

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Dr Solomon Arase have paid sterling tributes to Late former spokesman of the police, Frank Odita who has been late to rest in his home town Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to police spokesman, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, “The IGP on behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force, mourns the loss of a dedicated and esteemed retired colleague, CP Frank Odita, a former Force Public Relations Officer who served in the revered office between 1990 and 1992. He noted that CP Odita had made indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him, and in the annals of the NPF.

“CP Frank Odita’s commitment and exemplary service during his tenure as the Force PRO earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, the media, and the public. He played a pivotal role in enhancing the image of the Nigeria Police Force and fostering better relations with the media and the community.

“The Inspector General of Police emphasized that his passing is a great loss to the NPF family, and his contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished. As he is laid to rest today, the IGP extends the heartfelt condolences of the Police to his family and loved ones and prays for the repose of his soul. He reiterated that he will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and his legacy will continue to inspire us as we strive for excellence in our duties.”

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission Dr. Solomon Arase, also extended his condolence to the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, the Nigeria Police Force and family of late CP Frank Odita, former Force Public Relations Officer who was committed to mother earth today, Friday, November 3, 2023.

Dr. Arase prayed  God to give his family and friends the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

He extolled the qualities of the departed Officer who he said paid his dues as forthright Police Officer and accomplished Public Relations practitioner.

The PSC Chairman commended the fraternity of the retired Police Officers who came to his assistance while he battled with sickness adding that time has come for the welfare of retired Police Officers to be improved.

He regretted that most retired Officers even of senior ranks can hardly take care of themselves after retirement , a development he said was not good for the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

Dr. Arase noted that retired Police Officers have a lot to still offer the nation and should be availed the opportunity to be productively useful to themselves and the nation.
