Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday, congratulated former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, on his 59th birth anniversary, describing him as uncommon lawmaker with sterling parliamentary records.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor said Elumelu, who represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, was a lawmaker with sterling accomplishments in parliament.
He praised Elumelu’s efforts in the Nigerian Parliament and said that the former lawmaker’s pivotal participation in the power sector investigation several years ago had remained impressive.
Governor Oborevwori said: “As a lawmaker, you were outstanding; even outside the Parliament, you remained a leading light and a role model for budding politicians.
“As a state, we will continue to be proud of your insightful contributions to the expansion and advancement of our nation, especially your involvement in the growth of the power and health sectors during your leadership of the House’s committees on both subjects from 2007 to 2010 and 2011 to 2015.
“We are absolutely proud of your leadership role in the National Assembly when you led the opposition as Minority Leader, and it is our prayer that God will continue to grant you good health and more years ahead.
“I can attest to your sterling accomplishments in terms of infrastructural and human capital development and these laudable achievements will continue to inspire many in nation building.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I join your family and admirers to congratulate you, my dear brother and friend, Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu, OON, on the occasion of your 59th birth anniversary.
