The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said it has acquired over 84 hectares of land at the Kaduna Millenium City specifically for the development of affordable post-service housings for airmen and women.

The disclosure was made by the Chief of Administration, Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Idris Sani at the parley of Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar with veterans living in Abuja.

The Chief of Administration was CAS’s representative at the event.

According to him, under Air Marshal Abubakar, the NAF has embarked on a wide variety of initiatives and projects to enhance the living conditions of NAF personnel across the various Bases nationwide.

“The NAF acquired over 84 hectares of land at the Kaduna Millenium City specifically for the development of affordable post-service housings for airmen and women. Other lands acquired or ceded to the NAF include 121.4 hectares of land ceded to the NAF by Olu of Warri/NNPC, the 68. 97 hectares of land recovered at Nuwalege, behind NAF Base, Bill Clinton Drive, and the over 1200 hectares of farmland ceded to the NAF by the Niger State Government.

“The inflationary trend in the country has also necessitated the need to review the NAF boarding schools meal subsidy from N300 to N1000 effective from September 2023.

“Priority has also been given to wards of NAF personnel seeking admission into NAF schools nationwide to enable them remain focused on assigned tasks while concentrating on their core responsibility of defending the Nation.

“I want to thank our veteran’s community here in Abuja and environs, who despite the short notice, made it here to grace the event. This event no doubt has given some the opportunity to meet and greet others they may have probably not seen since after retirement.

“This day gives all of us here a precious opportunity to reflect on what it means to be a patriot, and a veteran. Each and every one of us here answered the clarion call to defend our dear Country and so deserve to be celebrated.

“The NAF and indeed the Armed Forces of Nigeria will continue to draw from your wealth of experience.” the CAS said.
