The Delta born billionaire and Chancellor of the STARS University Idumuje-Ugboko, Hon Prince Ned Nwoko has said that the late Chief Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa brought his son, the Governor of Delta State and himself closer in relationship, adding that his fatherly counsels would be greatly missed.
Nwoko made this assertion when he paid a condolence visit to Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in Government House, Asaba, Friday 5th February, 2021, to console him over the death of his beloved father.
The former House of Representatives member affirmed that the demise of the Governor’s father had indeed left a vacuum in the heart of those who loved him, maintaining that as one of those who loved and cherished Pa Okowa, he had come to condole with the first citizen of the State and by extension the rest of the family members.
According to him while briefing the press after a closed door meeting with the Governor, “My mission here today is to condole with the Governor of our dear State. He has lost his dearly beloved father who is also a father to all. Though we will miss his fatherly love and advice, I thank God for the grace of longevity for Pa Okowa to have lived up to 88 years. “Pa Okowa left behind legacies that we all can look back at and say of a truth he was a fulfilled man. Aside being a renowned teacher whose disciplinary disposition remains exemplary, Papa also committed better part of his life to community and political development within the communities of Delta and beyond.
“One of the things that brought me much closer to the Governor was the counsels of his father, who made me believe we needed to work together as brothers. I had issue at a time and I ran to him, and the quality advice he gave me will eternally remain etched in my heart. We are proud of him, not just as the Governor’s father but as an honest elder-statesman that fulfilled a purpose on earth.
“I have come to console my brother the Governor, even though we are all bereaved. I pray that God in His infinite mercies will grant him and his siblings the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss”, Nwoko prayed. The Star Prince as he is popularly called, was accompanied for the condolence visit by the SSA to the Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr. Michael Nwoko alongside some of his friends.
