Commanders of the Nigerian Army’s Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps have embarked on a four-day high-level operational assessment visit to Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), reinforcing calls for enhanced combat readiness and strengthened logistics in the North East.
The visit, taking place from 26 to 29 November 2025, brings together key commanders responsible for sustaining frontline operations: the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General Nansak Shagaya; Corps Commander Ordnance (CCO), Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim; Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (CC EME), Major General Adeyinka Adereti; and Commander Corps of Medical (CC Medical), Brigadier General Innocent Enwuchola.
They were received on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, by the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, at Headquarters Theatre Command, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Major General Shagaya commended OPHK troops for their resilience and sacrifices in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. He said the tour aims to evaluate logistics capacity across the theatre, noting that operational success depends heavily on supply chains, maintenance, mobility, and medical readiness.
He described the Theatre Commander’s briefing as “insightful and highly commendable,” urging troops to maintain momentum and remain undeterred by operational challenges.
Other commanders echoed the same message of support, praising Major General Abubakar for enhancing logistics efficiency, maintenance culture, and operational coordination in the theatre. They assured that all findings, observations and requests from the assessment would be forwarded for appropriate strategic action.
Brigadier General Enwuchola disclosed that plans are underway to upgrade the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (7 DMSH) to improve medical care for troops in line with global standards, while Major General Ibrahim emphasised logistics as the backbone of military success, pledging interventions to address identified needs.
Major General Adereti commended OPHK for sustained pressure on terrorists and stressed the importance of maintaining serviceable equipment, describing maintenance as a command responsibility requiring optimal use of EME personnel.
In his response, Theatre Commander Major General Abubakar thanked the visiting CSS leaders and reaffirmed that logistics and maintenance remain central to battlefield success. He expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen OPHK’s operational capacity.
The ongoing assessment also covers Headquarters 7 Division, Sector 1, and Sectors 2 and 3 of Operation HADIN KAI.
