The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Command, has intensified its push for service modernization with a one-day workshop aimed at deepening officers’ understanding of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) operational framework.

The capacity-building session, held on November 18, 2025, brought together officers from different units to strengthen their mastery of the integrated system, which is designed to streamline procedures, reduce delays, and improve overall service delivery.

Speaking during the workshop, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Victoria C. Aliboh, described the One-Stop Shop initiative as a critical tool for enhancing transparency and operational efficiency across Customs formations. She noted that the system is central to the Service’s ongoing reforms targeted at simplifying processes and improving inter-unit coordination.

Comptroller Aliboh explained that the OSS framework aligns with global best practices for trade facilitation and public sector modernization. According to her, the training underscores the NCS leadership’s commitment to continuous improvement, technological adoption, and the professional development of its workforce.

She added that empowering officers with the technical knowledge to fully utilize the OSS would not only improve workload efficiency but also accelerate response time and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.

Participants were taken through various modules designed to deepen their understanding of the OSS architecture and its role in improving the ease of doing business within the FCT Command.

The workshop is one of several initiatives introduced by the Command to build a more responsive and digitally driven Customs operation.
