Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, says every promotion within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) strengthens the Service’s intelligence, resilience, and dedication to protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty.
‎
‎Aneke made this known while congratulating Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) recently promoted to new ranks, effective September 1, 2025. He said the exercise, which follows NAF’s annual promotion cycle, reflects the Service’s sustained commitment to professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence.
‎
‎According to him, promotions are not mere administrative routines but moments that reaffirm the foundation of merit and devotion that the Air Force stands upon.
‎
‎ “With every promotion, we build a smarter, more resilient, and more dedicated Air Force,” Aneke said. “Each elevation represents renewed national confidence in our mission to protect and serve.”
‎
‎He assured that the 2025 promotion process was transparent and merit-based, in line with the standards of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He also revealed that other eligible personnel who have completed relevant technical or professional courses would be considered in subsequent rounds.
‎
‎While congratulating the newly promoted airmen and airwomen, Aneke urged them to see the achievement as a call to higher service.
‎
‎“Promotion is not just about rising in rank; it is about rising to greater expectations,” he said. “You have earned this through sacrifice — now is the time to give even more to your country.
‎
‎Reaffirming his belief that morale and mentorship are vital to operational success, the CAS said the NAF’s strength lies in its people.
‎
‎“Our personnel are our greatest asset,” he stressed. “When they are motivated, our operations become sharper, our impact stronger, and our purpose clearer.”
‎
‎He added that the latest promotion exercise aligns with the NAF’s broader reforms to deepen professionalism and nurture a new generation of leaders equipped for modern warfare.
‎
‎ “Let your new ranks inspire greater humility and dedication,” the CAS charged. “Together, we will continue to soar higher — for the flag, for the Force, and for the future.”
