The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested popular Lagos socialite and club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside over 100 others during a midnight raid on Proxy Night Club, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, 26th October 2025, followed credible intelligence that the club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, was being used to promote the use of illicit substances.
Confirming the operation in a statement, the Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi, said the raid was conducted in accordance with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures.
“Cartons of Loud and laughing gas were recovered from the club’s store and from some of the guests. The suspects, including the club owner, are currently undergoing screening and investigation,” Babafemi stated.
He added that the raid was part of ongoing nationwide operations aimed at dismantling drug networks and curbing the growing trend of narcotics use within entertainment circles.
The NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd.), commended the Lagos Command for its professionalism and intelligence-led approach.
“No social status or influence can protect anyone involved in illicit drug activities. We will continue to cleanse our social spaces and safeguard our youths from the menace of drug abuse,” Marwa stated.
Babafemi further noted that the Agency’s War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign would continue to sensitize communities and stakeholders to support the fight against narcotics.
He quoted the NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), as saying that the operation underscores the agency’s resolve to “clean up social spaces” and protect youths from the dangers of drug abuse.
“We have warned repeatedly that no amount of glamour or celebrity status will shield anyone from the law,” Marwa stated.
