Two kidnapped victims have been rescued by troops of the Nigerian Army following an operation led by the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Major General CR Nnebeife, in Babasango Forest, Kwara State.
‎
‎This was disclosed in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Polycarp Okoye, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, on Friday, October 10, 2025.
‎
‎According to the statement, the rescue followed a bandit attack near Idofin in Omu-Aran LGA, where three persons were killed. The GOC later visited the traditional ruler, Oba Pius Oluwole Oni Dofin of Idofin Ayekale, who attributed the attack to the community’s proximity to Babasango Forest.
‎
‎Maj-Gen. Nnebeife assured the royal father that troops would sustain operations to clear the forest of bandits.
