The Nigerian Army has dealt fresh blows to criminal networks nationwide, killing nine terrorists, arresting eight suspects, and freeing thirty-seven kidnapped victims in daring, coordinated operations across multiple states.
‎
‎The sweeping crackdown, conducted between October 2 and 6, saw troops ambush insurgents, repel large-scale attacks, and smash kidnap syndicates in Borno, Kebbi, Delta, Kaduna, Plateau, and Imo States.
‎
‎At Dipchari in Bama LGA of Borno State, troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion launched a deadly ambush on ISWAP/JAS fighters, gunning down five terrorists after intense crossfire. Another strike at Iyemero on the Ekiti–Kogi border left two insurgents dead and two AK-47 rifles recovered.
‎
‎A military insider told Razornews that the troops’ precision and aggressiveness “sent shockwaves through terrorist ranks.”
‎
‎ “They didn’t see it coming. Our men hit them hard, dismantled their positions, and cleared the area,” the source said.
‎
‎Across the country, eight criminal suspects including a terrorist courier, gunrunner, and a wanted IPOB/ESN kingpin were rounded up.
‎
‎In Kebbi State, troops rescued 28 locals, including a pregnant woman who delivered her baby during the operation. Seven other hostages were freed in Kaduna and Delta, while two were rescued in Plateau State.
‎
‎Meanwhile, in the South South, soldiers uncovered and destroyed illegal refining sites in Imo State, seizing over 20,000 litres of stolen crude and refined products.
‎
‎Military sources hailed the “renewed synergy” among troops, police, and vigilantes, describing the operations as “a strong message to enemies of peace that the Nigerian Army is in full control.”
