The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Saturday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Parry Osayande (Rtd.), at his residence in Benin City, Edo State.

DIG Osayande, who passed away on September 28, 2025, was a distinguished police officer and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC). He was widely respected for his exemplary service, reform-driven leadership, and enduring contributions to the growth and professionalism of the Nigeria Police Force.

During the visit, the IGP commiserated with members of the Osayande family, describing the late DIG as “a quintessential officer, a patriot, and one of the finest products of the Nigeria Police Force, whose legacy of integrity, discipline, and selfless service will remain evergreen in the institution’s history.”

IGP Egbetokun also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed elder statesman’s soul and comfort for his family, noting that the Force has lost a great mentor and guiding figure.

The visit was part of the IGP’s ongoing commitment to honouring past police icons who laid the foundation for the modern Nigerian policing system.

Late DIG Parry Osayande (Rtd.) served meritoriously in various capacities before retiring as Deputy Inspector-General of Police and later heading the Police Service Commission, where he contributed significantly to policy reforms aimed at strengthening police administration in Nigeria.
