In a renewed push to choke insurgent supply chains, Nigerian troops under Operation HADIN KAI have intensified their offensive in the North East, delivering major blows to Boko Haram and ISWAP logistics networks between 19 and 24 September 2025.
The week-long operations tagged Operation Desert Sanity IV recorded multiple breakthroughs across Borno and Adamawa States, including the seizure of smuggled fuel and fertilizer, the arrest of key terror collaborators, and the neutralisation of a Boko Haram scout.
Troops intercepted 21 jerricans of smuggled fuel in separate operations in Mubi South and North LGAs, while large quantities of urea fertilizer used in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were uncovered in Mubi Central Market, forcing suspected suppliers to flee.
In Borno, troops mounted an ambush near Alau Dam, killing a suspected Boko Haram scout, while in Maiduguri, a 54-year-old logistics supplier identified as Thomas James was arrested with 23 bottles of fuel concealed in a bag en route to Gamboru Ngala.
Similarly, troops in Garkida, Adamawa State, apprehended 31-year-old Ahmadu Buba, a confessed Boko Haram fighter linked to attacks in Damboa and the destruction of Mandahuma Bridge earlier this year.
Military authorities have praised the troops for sustaining maximum pressure on the terrorists, stressing that the relentless clampdown is crippling insurgent operations in the region.
